SUNY Oswego has awarded Merit Scholarships to a select group of students who started at the college in fall 2017. The Merit awards are $3,000 over four years. For non-New York state students, the total award can increase to as much as $39,000 in combination with a Destination Oswego scholarship.
World Diplomats are juniors who were first freshmen and then World Ambassadors in the University at Albany's Living-Learning Communities (L-LCs). A total of nine World Diplomats will serve as Student Engagement interns, housed in the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, for the 2017-2018 year. World Diplomats mentor sophomore World Ambassadors and serve as their teaching assistants, support L-LC programming, and help generate content for social media and newsletters to tell the Student Engagement story to the UAlbany community.
As first-year students embark on their college experience, they will all take part in Loyola's living learning program, Messina. The common text for Messina is Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson. The book, a compelling first-hand account of a lawyer who defends the poor and wrongly condemned, speaks to the inequality in the justice system.

Nearly 250 SUNY Potsdam students completed internship placements at companies, non-profits or campus departments in Spring 2015. SUNY Potsdam's internship program places students with employers whose interests align with their studies. Each student intern has a faculty sponsor, and earns between 1 and 12 credits toward their degree requirements.
